Saudi Paper Manufacturing Co. (SPM) completed installation works related to the tissue paper rolls production line and started trial operations, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

SPM expects to launch commercial production in April.

The production line costs nearly SAR 57 million compared to earlier estimates of SAR 58 million, the statement said, adding that it has a capacity of 30,000 tons per year.

The paper manufacturer expects a total saving of SAR 1 million in the purchase value of the machine due to the review of the payment mechanism.

SPM signed, on May 11, 2021, an agreement worth SAR 58 million with Italy-based Toscotec to manufacture and supply a tissue paper rolls production line, Argaam reported.

According to initial estimates, the commercial operations were to start in Q4 2022.
