King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued an index for the classification of air transport service providers and airports for March 2023.
The index is based on the number of complaints filed by travelers to the authority during the month.
Passengers filed 640 complaints in March 2023, compared to 355 in the same month last year, GACA data showed.
Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) recorded the least complaints at 11 per 100,000 passengers, with a closure rate of 98%. Flynas ranked second, with 20 complaints and a closure rate of 98%. Meanwhile, Flyadeal came third with 35 complaints per 100,000 passengers, recording a closure rate of 93%.
The most frequent complaints for March were about baggage services, tickets and flights.
Among international airports with an annual passenger number above 6 million, King Fahd International Airport recorded the least complaints, at 1% for every 100,000 passengers. It received only nine complaints, with a timely handling rate of 82%.
Among international airports with an annual passenger number below 6 million, Taif International Airport came on top with one complaint, or 1%, per 100,000 passengers. The closure rate stood at 75%.
Rafha Domestic Airport recorded the lowest complaints for every 100,000 passengers with one complaint, or 1%, at a closure rate of 100%.
