Saudi MSMEs receive SAR 229.3 bln credit facilities in 2022

Credit facilities extended to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) rose by 13% year-on-year (YoY) to almost SAR 229.3 billion by the end of 2022, data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed. 

  

Banks accounted for SAR 213.2 billion worth of credit facilities, or 93% of total financing. Facilities given by financing institutions stood at SAR 16.1 billion, or 7% of the total.

Medium enterprises accounted for SAR 132.97 billion, or 62%, of Saudi banks' facilities, while small enterprises held around SAR 65.1 billion, as shown below:
