Naqi Water gets SFDA nod to produce, sell vitamin D-fortified water

Naqi Water Co. obtained the final approval from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) to register, produce and sell vitamin D-fortified bottled drinking water, the company said in a Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) statement today, April 30.

The project of producing this product began in 2019 before the company’s Tadawul listing. The necessary studies, research and laboratory procedures were completed in 2022.

Naqi previously disclosed its commencement of the project in the listing prospectus in 2022.

This achievement signifies the company's ongoing dedication to fulfilling its obligations towards its shareholders, as outlined in its strategic plan.

The new product will be produced without the need for any external funding, the company said.

Naqi forecasts the relevant financial impact to appear in Q3 and Q4 2023.
