NGOs, foundations, training units not subject to Zakat collection: Al-Jadaan

Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), approved that NGOs, foundations and training units will not be subject to Zakat collection.

 

This rule will come into effect in the fiscal years starting from or after Jan. 1, 2023, according to Umm Al-Qura newspaper. It may – upon request of taxpayers – apply to fiscal years subject to the implementing regulations for Zakat collection, for which no final decision was issued by ZATCA.

 

ZATCA in coordination with National Center for Non-Profit Sector will submit a report by the end of 2024 about recommendations on the application of these rules
