GACO announces update to lawsuit filed against Environment Ministry

Al Gassim Investment Holding Co. (GACO) said that the Supreme Administrative Court accepted the objection submitted by the  Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture’s branch to the ruling issued by the Administrative Court of Appeal in Qassim on canceling the judgment and returning it to the Court of Appeal in Qassim.

In September 2021, the administrative court of appeal in Qassim approved in form the appeal filed by GACO against the ministry’s Qassim branch, as it abstained from submitting the company’s request to claim the rest of the revitalized area, according to data available with Argaam.  

The company filed a lawsuit in December 2020 against the Ministry of Environment’s branch, moving the Administrative Court in Buraydah to cancel the ministry's decision about abstening from referring GACO’s request to King Salman for ownership of the full area of land cultivated.

In June 2020, a royal order was issued, allowing GACO to own a 74.04 million square meter land plot out of the total area granted thereto in Shari, Qassim.
