US crude oil inventories declined against expectations in the week ended May 19, with gasoline stocks also down during the same period.

 

Crude oil shed 12.5 million barrels last week, versus expectations of a 775,000-barrel increase, data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed.

 

US gasoline inventories plunged by 2.1 million barrels during the same week, while distillate stocks declined 600,000 barrels.
