Colombia expressed its support for Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2030 World Expo, Adel Aljubeir, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member and Climate Envoy, said.

This came during a meeting between Aljubeir and his counterpart Álvaro Leyva Durán, Foreign Minister of Colombia, as they discussed the bilateral relations between the two nations as well as other regional and foreign issues.

On his official Twitter account, Aljubeir also thanked the Colombian government for its support for the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia submitted an official bid to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) to host Expo 2030. The Kingdom is competing with South Korea, Italy and Ukraine to organize the Expo, Argaam earlier reported.

By the end of November, during the 171st General Assembly of the BIE, the 170 member countries will vote to elect the winning country.
