Saudi Arabia advances to 13th place in IATA’s Air Connectivity Index 2023

Saudi Arabia advanced to the 13th place in the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Air Connectivity index for 2023, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said in a tweet.

 

The Kingdom achieved the highest growth in international air connectivity within the global aviation sector, climbing 14 places from its 27th rank in 2019.

 

GACA indicated that Saudi Arabia is moving steadily towards achieving the national strategy’s objectives for the aviation sector, aiming to reach 250 destinations by 2030.

 

According to data available on Argaam, the civil aviation strategy aims to double its capacity to 330 million passengers annually, expand its reach to more than 250 destinations and increase cargo capacity to 4.5 million tons.
