US stocks on public holiday today

US stock exchanges are observing today, July 4, a holiday on the occasion of Independence Day, with trading scheduled to resume normally the day after.

 

The US witnessed a shortened trading session early yesterday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average stabilized at 34,418 points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rose slightly.

 

This week, all eyes are on tomorrow’s release of the Federal Reserve's June meeting minutes, in the lookout for clues on the US central bank’s future monetary policy stance.
