Foreign investors were net buyers of about SAR 7.63 billion worth of stocks on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) in H1 2023, registering a drop of 78% from SAR 34.5 billion in H1 2022, according to data issued by Tadawul.
Foreign investors bought SAR 122.03 billion worth of shares and sold shares at a total value of SAR 114.41 billion in H1 2023.
Foreign investments include SWAP agreements, qualified investors, resident investors, discretionary portfolio management (DPMs), and strategic partners.
Foreign investors recorded the highest buys in April at SAR 3.61 billion.

Net sells by Saudi individuals in all categories amounted to nearly SAR 4.66 billion in H1 2023, compared to SAR 4.93 billion a year earlier.
Net buys by Saudi investors stood at SAR 394.43 billion, against net sells worth SAR 399.09 billion.
Saudi investors include retail investors, high net worth investors, individual professional investors, and individual DPMs.
The highest net retail sells were recorded in April at SAR 3.57 billion.
