The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources started assessing the second phase of the Future Factories Program, which targets 260 factories as per the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI).

In a statement today, July 10, the ministry pointed out that the second phase focuses on verifying the results of the factories' self-assessment. It targets factories that have achieved an advanced level in the self-assessment according to SIRI standard, at a score rate of 2.14.

In March, the ministry launched the second phase of the program which targets 217 factories in the first category of the program. These factories achieved an advanced level of self-assessment according to SIRI at 2.4, Argaam earlier reported.

The program, which was launched on July 20, 2022, aims to move 4,000 factories away from relying on low-skilled workers to automated manufacturing.

This aims to raise the national industry’s competitiveness and quality, and to contribute to availing quality jobs for national cadres.
