Cluster2 says flights up 11%, passengers 17% in Q2

Cluster2 OpCo., responsible for the operation and development of Saudi Arabia’s airports, said the number of flights increased by 11% year-on-year (YoY) to 34,330.

 

The number of passengers also rose by 17% YoY to 3.71 million in the three-month period.

 

Cluster2, launched on January 1, 2022, operates and develops the Kingdom's local, regional and tourist airports. It aims to manage and operate 22 airports throughout the country to meet tourism targets and contribute to the development of the aviation sector.

 

The airports managed and operated by the company include Al-Ula International Airport, Najran International Airport, Bisha Airport, Arar Airport, Sharurah Airport, Qurayyat Airport, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Jazan, King Saud bin Abdulaziz Airport in Al-Baha, Hail International Airport, Neom Bay International Airport, Taif International Airport, Abha International Airport, Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Airport in Tabuk, Prince Abdul Mohsen bin Abdulaziz Airport in Yanbu, Al Wajh Airport, Dawadmi Airport, Rafha Airport, Al Jouf International Airport, Tarif Airport, Wadi Al Dawasir Airport, and Rabigh Airport.

 

In its operational performance report for Q2 2023, the company said that the average number of flights and passengers reached 377 and 40,760, respectively.

Cluster2 added five new routes, namely Al-Jawf-Tbilisi, Jazan-Cairo, Jazan-Dubai, Qassim-Istanbul, Qassim-Trabzon and Qassim-Tbilisi, via Air Arabia, Flynas, Fly Dubai and Georgian Airlines.

 

The company is a subsidiary of Airports Holding Co., which was established on April 13, 2013. It manages and operates 27 airports around the Kingdom, according to Argaam's data.

 

Through its subsidiaries - Riyadh Airports, Jeddah Airports, Dammam Airports, and Cluster2 - Airports Holding aims to develop the Kingdom's airports and advance their performance in pace with the rapid development being witnessed by the Kingdom. In addition, the company supports of sustainable development in line with the National Aviation Strategy under Vision 2030’s National Strategy for Transport and Logistics.
