The number of factories in Saudi Arabia reached 10,819 by the end of the first quarter of 2023, with an estimated capital of SAR 1.43 trillion, according to a bulletin issued by the National Industrial and Mining Information Center of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.

 

According to the industrial sector indicators during Q1 2023, the number of employees in Saudi factories reached 725,560.

The number of national factories stood at 9,030, with an investment size of SAR 896.25 billion. Meanwhile, the number of foreign factories reached about 920 with an investment size of SAR 71.28 billion.

Large factories accounted for SAR 953.9 billion of the total investments, while the volume of investment in small factories reached SAR 99.41 billion.

The Eastern Province topped the Kingdom's regions in terms of the volume of industrial investment, with a value of SAR 603.42 billion, or 42.1% of the total investment. Riyadh came second with a value of SAR 315.5 billion.
