Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. received, on Aug. 5, a claim notification via e-mail from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to pay SAR 219.76 million in dues for 2015 to 2018.
The company will announce the financial impact later after the results of the caseation proceedings, which it has already filed. The date of the hearing has not yet been set, according to a statement on Tadawul.
In December 2020, the company received letters from the General Authority of Zakat and Tax, requiring the former to amend Zakat declarations submitted from 2015 to 2018 and demanding the payment of the difference amount, totaling SAR 231.12 million, for the period, Argaam reported earlier.
In June 2022, Amiantit said ZATCA’s the Tax Violations and Disputes Resolution Committees approved its objection to Zakat claims of nearly SAR 150 million for previous years.
Last March, Amiantit said it received decisions from the First Appeals Circuit for Income Tax Violations and Disputes on accepting the appeal of ZATCA and repealing the decision of the First Appeals Circuit regarding the item of loans for 2015-2018 and the item of other liabilities for 2015, 2016 and 2018 and its amendment for 2017.
The company said it will submit a petition to the General Secretariat of Zakat, Tax and Customs Committees to reconsider the decisions.
