Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy issued the first license for the vending machine-based sale of LPG cylinders, as it strives to distribute dry gas and LPG for residential and commercial purposes.

The LPG cylinders will be sold at fuel stations and large retail markets throughout the day. These outlets will also sell the relevant accessories and allow users to access the machines via mobile applications.

The ministry indicated that the step came amid its endeavors to allow competition, eliminate the monopoly activities in the LPG field and improve service levels.  It also reflects the ministry's efforts to encourage LPG investments.
