Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef
Saudi Arabia is in talks with a major traditional car manufacturer, Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper quoted Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef as saying.
Several carmakers will enter the Saudi market, and the outcomes of these talks are expected to be announced soon, he added.
Alkhorayef added that the opening of Lucid’s first international manufacturing in the Kingdom is deemed an important step under Saudi Arabia's National Industry Strategy and the strategic goals for the local car manufacturing sector.
Saudi Arabia has a prime geographical location, which drives investments and exports, the minister added, pointing to King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). He also stressed the Kingdom’s ability to enable investor access to target markets in a healthy and fast manner.
