SAR 500 banknotes
Saudi bank loans granted to non-financial government institutions and the private sector rose 10% by the end of August to SAR 2.59 trillion, compared to nearly SAR 2.35 trillion a year earlier, according to data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
Private sector lending also increased by 10% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 2.45 trillion for the same month.
Meanwhile, loans granted to public non-financial institutions jumped 20% YoY to about SAR 140 billion by the end of August.
