Gold prices surge as dollar drops, set for weekly rise


Gold prices gained more than $10 today, Oct. 13, as the US dollar dropped. Gold is bound for the best weekly gain of over 2% since March amid the Middle East escalations.

 

Bullion for December delivery rose by 0.68% to $1,895.8 per ounce at 11:16 am Makkah time. Spot gold was also up 0.84% to $1,884.64 per ounce.

 

Similarly, silver contracts for December delivery soared 1.46% to $22.28 per ounce. Platinum spot prices went higher to $873.8 per ounce.

 

The dollar index declined by 0.25% to 106.33 points.
