Mohamed Bushnaq, Deputy Minister of Human Capital
The localization of tourism jobs is one of the top priorities of the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, with several industry-related initiatives already undertaken with the relevant authorities, Mohamed Bushnaq, Deputy Minister of Human Capital, said as reported by Okaz Newspaper.
He added that the local tourism sector is based on establishing strategic partnerships with the private sector. This includes mega tourism projects, major hotel chains and other multiple activities that fall under the sector's umbrella such as accommodation, food and beverages, sports, entertainment, culture, transportation and others.
Some of these partnerships include a set of initiatives aimed at the localization of senior leaders, technical positions and frontliners. This is besides providing support for all the technical and behavioral skills and competencies required for these jobs.
Bushnaq pointed out that the ministry's strategy is still centered on qualifying and benefiting from Saudi youth, noting that it aims to increase youth participation in the local labor market to reach one million jobs in the tourism sector by 2030.
