Saudi Arabia aims for private sector to provide 45% of healthcare services: Al Falih

Minister of Investment Khalid Al Falih

Saudi Arabia seeks to make the private sector entities provide 45% of the healthcare services, said Minister of Investment Khalid Al Falih.

This requires major investments in hospitals, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors, the minister said at the Global Health Forum today, Oct. 29.

He added that currently 24% of the hospital beds in Saudi Arabia are by private sector entities compared to 80% in the US.

The number of beds is relatively low compared to the population, and changing this requires a lot of medical services to be provided, he noted.
