Gold prices stabilize ahead of US job data


Gold prices remained unchanged on Friday, but they are set for weekly losses ahead of the release of US non-farm job data.

 

Gold futures for December delivery reached $1,995.10 per ounce at 10:31 am Makkah time, but they are 1% lower this week.

 

Spot prices for the yellow metal rose 0.11% to $1,987.96 per ounce.

 

Spot platinum prices were up 0.39% to $928.94.

 

Silver futures for December fell 0.38% to $22.76 an ounce.

 

The US non-farm job data for October are expected to be released today, amid forecasts of adding 178,000 jobs compared with 336,000 in September.
