Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) issued a poll via the Istitlaa platform to get public feedback on amending the fee system for port services. The poll runs until Dec. 8, 2023.

MAWANI updated its fee system for port services under its mandate, which follows the Council of Ministers' Decision No. (299) and the Royal Decree No. (42), empowering the board to modify, approve, or cancel fees as needed. This change aligns with MAWANI's continuous efforts to adapt to developments and enhance operational quality and efficiency.

The amendments included reducing the departure fees for passengers (for cruise ships) from SAR 50 per passenger to SAR 25.

It streamlined the tariff for opening ship hatch covers at the container terminal, shifting to a complete cycle fee rather than per movement.

An adjustment was made to the free storage days for containers (empty export) by increasing the free storage days, revising transit, and lowering cargo service fees.
