GAC approves 19 economic concentration applications in October

The General Authority for Competition (GAC) issued 19 no-objection decisions for economic concentration applications in October, according to a statement.

 

Acquisition applications dominated the approvals issued in October at 79%, followed by joint ventures (JVs) at 21%.

 

The approvals issued in October included Arabian Education and Training Group Holding Co.'s acquisition of a 55% stake in Glory Generation International School.

 

In addition, Events Investment Fund and Union for Exhibitions and Conferences' acquisition of a 49% stake in Informa Saudi Arabia Ltd, and the acquisition of Arabian Education and Training Group of a 37% equity in Al-Alson International School were also approved.

 

The approvals also included National Medical Care Co.'s (Care) acquisition of Chronic Care Specialized Medical Hospital.

 

GAC indicated that it has issued non-conditional approvals for 150 transactions and three conditional approvals during the first 10 months of 2023.
