Prices of 95 Saudi goods, services up in October

Prices of 73 goods and services in Saudi Arabia declined year-on-year (YoY) in October, while prices of 95 out of 169 goods and services rose YoY, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.  

 

Egyptian oranges reported the biggest rise of 36.47% YoY last month, followed by Al-Safi yogurt (33.33%). The prices of local medium-sized potatoes saw the steepest drop of 21.41% YoY, followed by green beans (21.26%).

 

As for constructional goods, a total of 11 goods rose, while 27 others declined YoY.

 

Prices of seven fodder and livestock products rose YoY last month, while the cost of the remaining six products fell YoY.

 

In the clothing category, prices of eight out of 10 items increased YoY, while the remaining products registered a decline.

 

Prices of three out of four miscellaneous personal goods and services climbed YoY in October, while one declined YoY.

 

Meanwhile, prices of all detergent products rose YoY during the month.

 

Prices of two health services rose last month, while the cost of the third service fell YoY.

 

As for maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, one service rose YoY, while the other declined.

 

Prices of the two hotel and furnished apartment services rose in October compared to a year ago.

 

Under the tobacco categories, prices of Marlboro cigarettes remained unchanged in October YoY.
