POS device
Point-of-sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia totaled approximately SAR 11.25 billion for the week ended Nov. 25, compared to SAR 11.27 billion in the previous week.
Data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed that total POS transactions amounted to around 171.93 million for the week.
POS transactions represent consumer expenditures through debit and credit cards at major shopping centers, retail outlets, pharmacies, and others.

During the week, the education sector led decliners in terms of transactions value with a 51% decrease, followed by the healthcare sector (7%).
On the other hand, the clothes & footwear sector topped gainers with a 16% increase, followed by the hotels sector (14%).
For the same period, consumer spending was focused on the restaurants & cafes sector, totaling SAR 1.79 billion. The food & beverage (F&B) sector trailed with total POS transactions worth SAR 1.6 billion.
