The Northern Borders Investment Forum, which was held on Nov. 25, witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements to support and develop investment opportunities, attract investors, and pave the way for mega investments in the region.

 

During the event, 157 investment opportunities were presented in the Northern Borders, at a total cost of SAR 22 billion, in the sectors of transportation, logistics, mining, education, healthcare, tourism, industry, hospitality, and scientific research.
 

The Ministry of Investment unveiled 38 investment opportunities in the Northern Borders with an investment value of more than SAR 19 billion in various sectors.
 

These opportunities include an agreement by Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) to expand its investments in the Northern Borders at SAR 3 billion.
 

In addition, a new project worth SAR 33 billion is under way in the region to double the energy project in the Kingdom to become the third largest phosphate producer in the world.
 

A logistics city will be established in Arar to serve investors and exporters in the Kingdom and Iraq. 
 

Municipal Company will also be incorporated in the Northern Borders soon as part of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing's project to involve the private sector in municipal services and opportunities.
 

Municipal projects worth SAR 120 million will be developed in various sectors under the region's investment plan.
 

Further, three logistics centers will be established in the region under the Kingdom's master plan for logistics centers, which includes establishing 59 centers with the aim of supporting local industries.
