Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Jazan Province, inaugurated today the award of capital projects to the Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries for 2023, which included 53 projects with diverse goals and outcomes at a cost exceeding SAR 9 billion.
The head of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Salem, said that the impact of these projects will be reflected directly in providing job opportunities for young men and women in the region and the country.
The awarded projects were divided into three main portfolios, including the support services portfolio with 11 projects, which will contribute to boosting the city’s environmental sustainability efforts and provide contracts for studies of the pilot plan for the city’s eastern and southern expansion, with a total area exceeding 152 square kilometers.
Meanwhile, the infrastructure and roads portfolio includes 24 projects, which will contribute to developing the infrastructure of the industrial zone and the special economic zone, with an area of nearly 11.5 square kilometers, and the residential area and city center, with an area of approximately 4 square kilometers.
This is in addition to the construction of a road network in the city with a length of more than 19 linear kilometers to serve all areas of the city, as well as establishing electrical distribution stations and networks with a capacity of 1.5 GVA, and stations and networks of seawater cooling channels with a capacity of 160,000 cubic meters per hour, with a length of 10 km extending to and from the sea.
Meanwhile, the number of housing and facilities portfolio projects reached 18 projects, with a total cost exceeding SAR 3 billion.
