Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources succeeded in forging a human capital development strategy for the Saudi industry and mining sector, which will be announced soon, said Faris Alsaqabi, the ministry’s Deputy Minister for Human Capacity Development.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Alsaqabi indicated that the ministry is in talks with various Saudi universities, academies, and institutes to commence training programs and enhance capabilities of industry-related cadres. This is to provide specializations that reinforce the Kingdom’s industry sector.

Diligent work is underway to create 2.1 million job opportunities in the industry and mining sector, the official said. Emphasizing the ministry's commitment to workforce training and development, Alsaqabi highlighted the ongoing efforts to identify specific scholarship pathways.

Additionally, the ministry is actively supporting and overseeing national programs and institutes, including the Food Industries Polytechnic (FIB) in Al Kharj. Recognized as a sustainable model, FIB is driven by competencies that have gained the trust of the sector’s heavyweights.
