Riyadh’s hosting of Expo 2030 reflects the international community’s confidence in Saudi Arabia and its ability to host one of the major global events, while achieving sustainable social and economic development, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim said.

The Kingdom’s hosting of Expo 2030 will have many social and economic impacts, such as promoting growth in gross domestic product (GDP), providing job opportunities and promoting investment flows, etc.

The event will contribute to developing several sectors like tourism, construction and services. Expo 2030 will raise the number of visitors to the Kingdom, which will drive the development of the hospitality and retail sectors, and increase consumer spending.

Expo 2030 will offer Saudi investors an opportunity to create commercial partnerships through a global platform to communicate with many global companies in various sectors. It will also help improve products and services, such as healthcare, education and transport, Alibrahim explained.

These impacts have started since Saudi Arabia was selected to host this event and will continue after its end. This will be evident in various projects to develop infrastructure ahead of hosting Expo 2030 and other events.
