The Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, along with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), are set to create more than 16,000 jobs for Saudis in the engineering sector, Al Eqtisadiah reported, citing an official source.

The daily business newspaper said that agreements will be signed with a number of private sector entities to implement the government decisions on localizing engineering professions.

The decisions are expected to provide more than 8,000 jobs in the engineering sector and an additional 8,000 jobs in engineering technical professions, with a Saudization rate of 25% and 30%, respectively, for establishments with five or more engineers or technicians.
