Saudi Arabia’s exports and imports were not affected by the unrest in the region, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing CEO of Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) Omar Hariri. The impact was limited to vessels in transit, he added.

Jeddah Port’s container handling was higher than Dammam’s King Abdulaziz Port, even with the current crisis in the Red Sea.

Hariri pointed out that MAWANI raised the capacity readiness of King Abdulaziz Port as a result of the current conditions witnessed by maritime traffic in the Red Sea, in case it was required.
