The Transport General Authority (TGA) issued six regulations for order delivery business activities, which will come into effect as of April 1, the authority said on X platform.

These regulations stipulate that non-Saudis work only through lightweight transportation firms, gradually and within 14 months and Saudis will continue to work in the field actively.

Applications shall activate the “face recognition technology” to verify driver’s identity; motorcycle-related regulations in the order delivery business should be determined in cooperation with the General Department of Traffic; non-Saudis must wear a uniform; and advertisements on lightweight transportation vehicles shall be allowed, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing.

These decisions aim to regulate and boost the order delivery businesses, increase reliability and create job opportunities.
