US oil inventories decline 6.7M barrels last week: API

US oil inventories fell by about 6.67 million barrels in the week ended Jan. 19, the American Petroleum Institute (API) data showed.

 

Gasoline stocks jumped by 7.18 million barrels last week, while distillate stocks—including diesel and heating oil—fell by about 245,000 barrels.

 

Meanwhile, Brent crude for March delivery closed lower by 0.65%, or 51 cents, at $79.55 per barrel on Jan. 23.

 

WTI crude for March delivery fell 0.5%, or 39 cents, to $74.37 per barrel.
