The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) stated that its social security beneficiary empowerment program achievements exceeded the target, empowering more than 92,000 beneficiaries in the employment track in 2023, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The ministry has enabled approximately 18,000 beneficiaries in various economic fields across the Kingdom, providing financial and non-financial support for their productive projects and entrepreneurial businesses. This is in addition to offering a set of incentives that enable beneficiaries to start their own projects.
This program is among others provided by the Social Insurance and Empowerment Agency through an array of services provided by the ministry’s partners, including job and training opportunities, in addition to services supporting productive and entrepreneurial projects. The program aims to improve the beneficiaries’ living and economic conditions, transforming them from dependency to production and financial independence, through three main pillars.
Various activities were provided by the agency in 2023. This included holding more than 1,000 training courses and workshops at the agency’s offices across various regions of the Kingdom. Such courses are announced to beneficiaries on a regular basis.
The ministry pointed out that the agency, through its offices in various Saudi regions, has concluded more than 300 memorandums of understanding (MoUs), cooperation agreements, as well as strategic and regional partnerships to serve social security beneficiaries and empower them in the labor market. These partnerships were distributed among training institutes, charitable organizations, private sector institutions, and governmental entities.
The HRSD Ministry indicated that its program aims to achieve the basic objectives of the Social Security System. It is also working with the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF) and the relevant authorities to prepare a rehabilitation plan for eligible beneficiaries, in accordance with the conditions specified by the regulations regarding age, qualifications, medical fitness, etc.
Moreover, the rehabilitation plan aims to provide job search services to beneficiaries capable of working. This besides continuous follow-up for eligible beneficiaries to verify their qualifications according to the plan, and how serious they are in their search for work and their acceptance of appropriate job and training offers.
