Saudi Arabia and the UK announced today, Jan. 31, new procedures for the electronic exemption scheme for Saudi citizens traveling to Britain, to be an electronic travel authorization (ETA) visa process instead of an electronic visa waiver (EVW) scheme.

The new visa will run for up to two years, allowing multiple entries while valid. Applicants will be charged a £10 fee.

Furthermore, the new visa process will take effect as of Feb. 22, but applicants can start filing their applications starting Feb. 1. It can be used for tourism, business, short-term study, or medical treatment purposes.

This came during Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid Al-Khereiji's meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh today with Tariq Ahmed, Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and the United Nations at the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development.
