King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam registered the highest monthly throughput during January 2024, handling 215,180 TEUs.

This confirms the port’s role in strengthening the ports sector, logistics services, and supporting national imports and exports, as well as contributing to raising the Kingdom’s rank in international rankings, Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) said in a statement.

The developments come within the framework of its efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s leadership in the maritime sector, maximize its ability to spur the transportation and logistics industry, and enhance its economic and development role, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics.

King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam exceeded its previous record for the highest monthly handling in July 2023 when it handled 211,200 TEUs. This reflects the success of development projects to increase handling volumes, enhance the port’s competitive ability, and increase communication channels with international ports.
