ASMO, a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) and DHL Supply Chain, is a procurement and logistics services hub in Saudi Arabia, catering to customers in the industrial, energy, chemical and petrochemical sectors, Oscar de Bok, DHL Supply Chain CEO, told Argaam.

 

ASMO (Advanced Supply Management Operations) is a major project that will implement digital technologies with plans to integrate advancements in automation, collaborative robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI), to improve end-to-end supply chains for the energy producers.

 

The new project seeks to optimize procurement, logistics, and inventory, said de Bok, adding that Saudi Arabia has lots of opportunities.

 

Highlighting the importance of the Saudi market, de Bok indicated that the company has a staff strength of 4,000 in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, ASMO is a large project that will have 1,000 employees within one year, he noted.

 

Saudi Aramco and DHL Supply Chain announced on Feb. 5 the formation of ASMO, a new procurement and logistics services hub in Saudi Arabia, data compiled by Argaam showed.
