Saudia Private Aviation, a subsidiary of national flag carrier SAUDIA, signed an agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Defense worth more than SAR 500 million to provide ground services and planning for the ministry’s flights, said Abdullah AlShahrani, General Manager of Communication and Media Affairs and Spokesperson for the airline.
He also revealed that Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI), another subsidiary, signed an agreement with Brazilian airline Embraer to establish an authorized maintenance center at the Kingdom’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) village.
AlShahrani added, in an interview with Asharq Bloomberg TV on the sidelines of the World Defense Show 2024 held in Riyadh, that the center will be designated to assemble three models of Embraer’s aircraft.
He pointed out that the company announced, for the first time, a mobile maintenance service during the exhibition, catering to clients at the aircraft-based location. This service is the first of its kind in the MENA region, he continued.
