The Ministry of Energy is committed to the Tawteen program, Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said today, Feb. 28.

The energy sector could achieve 75% localization by 2030, offering 150,000 jobs across various fields through Tawteen program, he noted, speaking at the Human Capability Initiative (HCI).

He emphasized focusing on human resources targets within the sector and engaging with educational institutions to attract young talents for energy sector careers.

He also identified training and educational gaps in areas like nuclear, hydrogen, and renewable energy, adding that these are being addressed through collaborations with Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) and Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC).

The ministry aims at comprehensive workforce planning and capacity building, focusing on attracting youths, retaining employees, recruiting experts, knowledge transfer, and female workforce integration, he added.

The minister also stressed that society’s progress is measured by human capital development and opportunities for learning and talent attraction. He argued that development program’s success relies on human resources development.

In addition, he mentioned the energy sector and other sectors in the Kingdom utilize key performance indicators and strategies to monitor target achievement.
