First Mills starts commercial operations at new Durum Mill

First Milling Co. (First Mills) started the commercial operation at its new Durum Mill in its Jeddah factory, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

The new mill will contribute to expanding the company’s product portfolio to include coarse and fine Durum wheat semolina, crushed wheat “jareesh”, and peeled wheat “harees”, in addition to the existing portfolio of flour, mixes, bran, and fodder products.

The company aims to expand its scope and increase production capabilities, strengthening its position as the first operator of a durum mill in the Kingdom. This will lead to achieving the company's vision and future goals.

The operation of the Durum Mill is expected to increase the daily production capacity by up to 300 tons of coarse and  fine Durum wheat semolina, “Jareesh” and “Harees”.

The financial effect of the expansion is anticipated to be reflected in First Mills’ financial performance in the first half of 2024.
