SABIC Agri-Nutrients Co.’s board of directors appointed Fahad Al-Battar as CEO, effective as of April 1, replacing Abdulrahman Shamsaddin, who was nominated for one of the executive leadership positions at Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC), the company said in a statement to Tadawul today, March 14.
Al-Battar has practical experience in executive leadership and technical and operational positions, extending for more than 25 years in several fields.
During his professional career, he held many leadership positions at SABIC and its subsidiaries, including being President of Al Sharqiyah Petrochemicals Co. (Sharq) and Al-Jubail Fertilizer Co. (Al-Bayroni), and Saudi Petrochemical Co. (SADAF), and SABIC Agri-Nutrients.
His most recent position was COO at SABIC Agri-Nutrients, under the new organizational structure that had been implemented in early 2022.
During Al-Battar’s professional career, he worked on and supervised the implementation of many projects in the petrochemicals and agri-nutrients sectors.
Al-Battar holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
