US crude oil inventories fall over 1.5M barrels last week: API

Crude oil inventories in the United States fell by 1.52 million barrels for the week ended March 15, according to the American Petroleum Institute (API).

 

Gasoline stocks decreased by 1.57 million barrels during the past week, while distillate stocks, including diesel and heating oil, rose by about 512,000 barrels.

 

Meanwhile, Brent crude futures for May delivery went up 0.55%, or 49 cents, to close at $87.38 per barrel on March 19.

 

WTI crude for May delivery gained 0.7%, or 57 cents, to $82.73 per barrel.
