ACWA Power's NOORo III in Morocco goes offline due to forced outage

ACWA Power announced a forced outage at its NOORo III plant in Morocco after receiving a notice from the project’s company about a leak in the hot molten salts tank. The preliminary analysis showed that the forced outage will last until November 2024.

 

The preliminary estimates show an initial estimation of a of a revenue loss of SAR 176.3 million ($47 million) for the project company, ACWA Power Ouarzazate III (APO 3), in which ACWA Powers holds a 75% stake, according to a statement to Tadawul.

 

The measures taken to address the incident include repairing the tank with the possible construction of a new one, ACWA Power said, adding that any fundamental updates will be announced in due course.
