IBM starts preparations for new center in Riyadh

US-based IBM started preparations for its new software development center in Riyadh, under the management of Gaya Magie, who relocated to Saudi Arabia to lead the new center, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

 

Ayman AlRashed, Regional Vice President of IBM Saudi Arabia, revealed that the software development center primarily focuses on developing and managing technological products in the fields of data, artificial intelligence, and sustainability software. This will accelerate digital innovation, skill-building, and provide high-quality jobs for young Saudi talents in the field of information technology, as well as offer exportable technological solutions globally.

 

AlRashed noted that a group of national talents, including engineers and software developers, has been recruited to join the new center's workforce.

 

According to Argaam, IBM announced during the LEAP24 Conference last March an SAR 250 million worth of investments (SAR 937 million) to establish the first global software development center in the Kingdom.
