The number of POS transactions reached about 181.04 million last week, according to data issued by SAMA.
POS transactions represent consumer expenditures through debit and credit cards at major shopping centers, retail outlets, pharmacies, and others.

Sales value rose in all sectors last week, led by the transportation sector with a 17% increase. The telecommunications sector came in second with a 14% increase, followed by the education and furniture sectors with 12% rises each.
Consumer spending was focused on the food and beverage (F&B) sector, totaling SAR 1.73 billion during the week. The restaurants and cafes sector trailed with total POS transactions worth SAR 1.65 billion, as follows:
