The General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) announced initiating an anti-dumping investigation against the Kingdom's imports of stainless steel or steel pipes, welded longitudinally with circular sections, originating from China and Taiwan.

In a recent statement, GAFT, the decision to initiate the investigation was taken in accordance with the Law of Trade Remedies in International Trade, issued on November 23, 2022. The law empowers GAFT to undertake trade remedies tasks, including conducting investigations, reviews, and imposing measures in line with the Kingdom's international commitments.

The law aims to protect the local industry from damage caused by dumped and subsidized imports, prevent the increase in imports, and defend the Kingdom's exports subjected to trade remedies measures.
