Al-Jouf Agricultural Development Co. held on May 9 an opening ceremony for its new French fries factory in Busita, Al-Jouf, under the patronage and presence of Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jouf Region.

In a statement to Tadawul today, May 12, the company said the new French fries factory is one of the largest in the Kingdom. It boasts an annual production capacity of 35,000 tons, covering approximately 15% of the Kingdom's consumption of French fries.

The establishment of this factory marks a significant step in the company's strategic shift from agriculture to agro-industry, the statement highlighted.

The factory plays a pivotal role in enhancing food security for the Kingdom by reducing import reliance. Bringing down imports positively influences the Saudi trade balance and aligns with the Vision 2030 goals for boosting local content.

In December 2023, Al-Jouf Agricultural announced the commencement of commercial operations for the French fries factory in Al-Jouf, data compiled by Argaam showed.
