Environment Ministry clarifies mechanisms to bear customs duties on agricultural inputs

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture explained that the state bears all customs duties for agricultural production inputs, as well as the establishment of agricultural and animal production factories outside the industrial sites.

 

The announcement was made during an agricultural sector meeting organized by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce. Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Establishments and Services at the Ministry Mohammed Al-Abdulatif outlined the implementation mechanism and details of the decision.

 

The decision includes all agricultural and animal production inputs and targets farmers, agricultural institutions and companies, agricultural associations, as well as importing institutions and companies, the official confirmed in a statement issued by the Ministry.

 

He pointed out that the status of factories located outside industrial cities will be addressed based on the situation of existing factories within agricultural sites across the Kingdom.

 

The Cabinet, chaired by King Salman, approved on Feb. 26, that the state will bear customs duties on specific types of agricultural production inputs for two years as per certain rules.
