Sales value declined across the board last week except for building materials and construction with an increase of 0.3%. Education led the declining sectors, down 23%. It was followed by the telecommunications sector with a 10% weekly decline, and the jewelry as well as food & beverages with 9% each.
Consumer spending was focused on the F&B sector, totaling SAR 1.77 billion during the week. The restaurants and cafes sector followed with total POS transactions worth SAR 1.73 billion, as follows:
